The recent
Ganesh Chaturhti
celebrations at Kumkum and
Ashok Roy Choudhury
’s residence had people welcome
Bappa with open arms. Due to the family’s strong belief in
Lord Ganesha
, with more than 3000 Ganesha idols in their home, they have been celebrating the festival for the past 14 years. “I order the Ganpati statue and modak from Mumbai and worship the deity for three days,” said Kumkum, who sat through the whole puja for hours despite a fracture in her leg. Lending a helping hand to Kumkum and Ashok were their daughters Priyanka and Sivanka, who, along with their husband, Abhijit and Karan, respectively, looked after the arrangements and made sure that everything was just perfect for the celebrations.
