A soul-stirring musical evening!

A blissful musical evening titled, Ek Shaam Lucknow Ke Naam, was held at Surya Auditorium of Lucknow Cantonment, recently. The event began with a soulful performance by singer Anup Jalota. Anup started the performance by singing Ram Dhun, and later went on to sing songs like Ab Nazar Hata Lijiye and Itni Shakti Hamein Dena Daata. He remembered his late friend Pankaj Udhas, and sang Chitthi Aayi Hai as a musical tribute to him.

Soon after his performance, Dr Hariom, an IAS officer and a singer, took the stage and sang Ramaiya Vastavaiya, Chaudhvin Ka Chand. A beautiful dance performance by the Ratan sisters, Isha and Misha, further added to the evening. The duo performed on the song Salaam Karne Ki Aarzu Hai from Umrao Jaan.

Playback singer Ankita Kapoor took the stage to perform a special act. She sang songs spanning three generations, filling the atmosphere with her magical vocals. The event was held to felicitate singers who were felicitated by Lt Gen NS Raja Subramani, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Central Command, Lucknow, who was also the chief guest of the evening along with his wife Mahalaxmi.
