A befitting tribute to this Lakhnawi author

An event titled, Rachana Drishya held at Sangeet Natak Akademi, paid homage to author Padma Bhushan Bhagwati Charan Varma and his descendants by presenting dramatized performances of their stories. Dhirendra Varma, along with his son Chandra Shekhar Verma, grandson of Bhagwati Charan Varma, graced the event.

The evening commenced with a dramatization of Bhagwati Charan Varma’s story, Praishchit. The performance was delivered by Rupali Chandra, a renowned voice artist from Lucknow. Later, Jyoti Sinha, writer and poet, took the stage to present Awaaz De Kahan Hai, written by Dhirendra Varma. The dramatic showcase concluded with an intriguing story written by Chandra Shekhar Verma, titled Daak Babu.

Later, the event transitioned to its second segment, featuring a dance ballet performance based on the ghazal Sukoon-E-Dil by Jyoti Sinha. The performance was executed by artist Anuj Mishra, his wife Neha Mishra, and their ensemble.
