Liebherr started production of fully integrated refrigerators in India

Liebherr Appliances India has begun manufacturing its first Made-in-India fully integrated (FI) refrigerators, freezers and combination units. Production takes place at the company’s facility in Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra.

This new range is specially designed for Indian climatic conditions, offering improved energy efficiency and long-lasting performance. The models are also tailored for modern built-in modular kitchens — a segment gaining popularity in Indian households.

The launch event was held in Mumbai, where Stéfanie Wohlfarth, vice president of Liebherr Appliances, expressed pride in introducing the brand’s built-in range to India, calling it one of the world’s most dynamic markets.

Steffen Nagel described the move as a major milestone in the company's growth in India. Kapil Agarwal added that the locally manufactured products ensure quicker availability without the delays of import, supporting the country’s growing demand for premium kitchen appliances.

With this strategic expansion, the company aims to strengthen its footprint in India’s premium appliance segment by offering cutting-edge European technology with localised innovation and faster market access.

The new FI range is now available through Liebherr’s distribution network across key metro cities, further enhancing customer access to high-quality built-in refrigeration solutions.
