The language of music is universal. And just like any other language, music too has been influenced by cultures and societies. So at the launch of Bickram Ghoshs latest album at a city book store, panelists discussed how fusion, which is found in many spheres such as fashion, food, movies, apart from music, has affected us. Usha Uthup, Agnimitra Paul, Anjan Dutt, Jayabrato Chatterjee, Ashoke Viswanathan and Chetna Jalan joined Bickram in deliberating if fusion is doing any good.
While Bickram said fusion is a much maligned and also a much loved form, Ashoke while punning on the word felt it is something few could shun. All the panelists though were in favour of the
homogeneous mix in our various art forms.
And then it was time for the musician to play one of the songs from the album, which got a loud round of applause from the shoppers and audience present.
