Veteran performers feted at a classical music fest

Classical Festival, the Shyam Sundar Co Sarvottam Samman was conferred upon veteran classical vocalist Begum Parveen Sultana.
Bakul Saha, Bela Saha and Rupak Saha from the jewellery house felicitated Begum Parveen Sultana for her immense contribution to Indian classical music. The felicitation was followed by a mesmerising performance by the eminent classical vocalist.


The four-day festival, presented by Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers, also featured performances by eminent artistes like Kaushiki Chakrabarty, Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash.
The musical soiree also witnessed a felicitation of eminent classical exponent Pt Birju Maharaj by the jewellery company.
Rupak Saha, director, Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers, said, “We are honoured to extend the Sarvottam Samman to a living legend who has dedicated her life to her passion and has become an institution by herself. Last year, we extended the honour to Ustad
Amjad Ali Khan, another living legend dedicated to his passion. This year we are really glad to honour Begum Parveen Sultanaji and Pt Birju Maharajji.”
