There’s no stopping Sami
It was an Akbar Sami night at Soho Lifestyle, Kitchen & Bar on Saturday. Needless to say, party animals hardly needed any coaxing to throng the venue.
With Bollywood remixes churned out back-to-back, lip-smacking snacks whipped up to satiate ones taste buds and special cocktails on offer to quench ones thirst, Soho turned out to be chock-a-block.

DJ Akbar Sami preferred touching down in Kolkata before flying off for his US tour for a month. He spoke highly about the city, You can experiment with your music here. The crowd understands remix music. He opined that having worked in Bollywood for more than 20 years, its DJs like him who have made Bollywood music global. There is a perception that singers and musicians are of a greater calibre than DJs. But let me clarify that it is us who play remix Bollywood tracks in various parts of the world, that are so liked by people. How many of them actually listen to the original tracks? I feel happy when I see that Americans are playing my remix tracks on their car stereo. Maybe, the industry will still take time to give us our due. But music lovers are crazy about my kind of music. Thats an achievement, added Sami before signing off with a piece of information that he would be back in the city with some new kind of music after his US tour.
