With the Bengali New Year setting in, The Times of India came out with the summer issue of Aamar Somoy on April 15 at Dakshin Kalikata Sansad (DKS) grounds. As the evening buzzed with expectation and excitement from a packed ground of guests and club members, the literary magazine was launched by eminent author Bani Basu in the presence of club president Prasad Ranjan Ray.
I feel that Aamar Somoy has filled a huge vacuum in Bengali literary space and has given a platform to writers, said Basu. To celebrate the launch of Aamar Somoy, as well as mark the Bengali New Year, singers Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta and Pratik Choudhury entertained the audience with popular Bengali and Hindi songs.
With Pratik Choudhury, Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta and others providing food for the soul in fusion with the members indulging in prolific adda, revisiting their blues, laced with golden moments, the very essence of Antiquity. Priceless
collection of moments, I say, commented Kaushik Chatterjee, EVP & COO, USL (RPC-East). UB Group, LG, Dr Pauls Multi Speciality Clinic were the sponsors for the programme.
