Pronam, a joint initiative for the senior citizens of the city by The Bengal — an organization comprising eminent personalities of West Bengal — and Kolkata Police, has been the talk of the town in the recent past. It held an interaction on Friday where the veterans shared their experiences of being a member of the group.
Sundeep Bhutoria, general secretary, The Bengal, said, “We started off in July 1, 2009 with 200 members and are now reaching almost 10,000.

We have tie-ups with 53 hospitals in the city where the members can get a discount.” Jogen Chowdhury, Arindam Sil, Bickram Ghosh were present along with chairman of the organization, HM Bangur, whose trust has been financially supporting this project since its inception.
Nabaneeta Dev Sen, president of the organization, and Debabrata Das, DC South East Division, were also present at the do. Sundeep shared that they regularly organize sports and cultural programmes for the members.
