The annual swimming competition at the Tollygunge Club saw huge participation from the club members. Members and their families took part in different types of competitions, from freestyle and butterfly to relay, with equal excitement and enthusiasm.
The three-generation relay was one of the most happening races of the competition, with families participating as groups.
“It was fun to participate with my father and grandfather. It’s my grandfather’s birthday as well,” said Shlok Mazumdar, whose family got the second prize.
Priyanka Bhoopal, one of the organisers, who also grabbed a couple of medals, said, “We always look forward to this. It is exciting to see such massive participation on a Sunday morning. We have different events to cater to different age groups. Look at the kids, they are really enjoying it.”
The tournament was divided into four teams and the equestrian team won the championship by picking up the most medals. “It’s good to see such an amazing response from the club members. Members of different age groups participated and enjoyed the Sunday morning. We had a great time,” said Ronen Roy, the chairperson of the swimming committee of Tolly Club.
