Accompanied by Sudeshna Basu, the play reading of “The Dark Chamber” was an exploration of the various shades of sexuality. Based on the relationship of two friends, Ranajoy and Sunando, the play has a homophobic and hypocritical society as it’s background.

As the two friends bond over a drink, a realization of their own selves occur.
Sujoy succeeds in creating awareness by compelling his audience to think if escapism is the only solution. Beyond the darkness of the theme, there is a pure celebration of the blemishes that continuously scar the transgender community. “We must learn to accept. My gay friends are far more sensitive and creative,” said artist Mome Bhattacharya from the audience.
