Remembering Habib Tanvir

An exhibition on the life and works of one of the most popular Urdu, Hindi playwrights, a theatre director, poet and actor, Habib Tanvir, was inaugurated by Girish Karnad on Thursday evening.

Also present on the occasion was GovernorGopal Krishna Gandhi, who was the Guest of Honour at the event. He said,��Habibsaab and theatre were integral to each other.�� Girish Karnad,who had known Habib Tanvir for the past 40 years, reminisced, ��He was theman who brought Indian theatre on the world map.��
