The premiere of Bengali film Sraboner Dhara was a happy affair with most of the cast and crew members of the film present. Even though veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee, who acted as one of the central characters in the film, couldn’t make it due to physical illness,

, his wife and Dr Nilava Roy—it deals with much more than just a

disease

. While the story talks about Alzheimer’s, it is also a tale of fading relations caused by the disease. “Along with memories, Alzheimer’s takes away the relationships. When a patient cannot recognise his near and dear one, it destroys more than one life,” said Parambrata Chatterjee, who is playing the character of Nilava Roy.
