It was nothing short of a carnival with a host of musicians — veterans and youngsters — gathering at the sixth chapter of Chhad-er Panchali, a terrace concert, which took place recently at an alfresco pub near Topsia. From pop and rock to folk, and from covers to originals — musicians belted out contemporary Bengali songs that enthralled the audience.
Veteran folk musician Deb Chaudhury was felicitated at the do. He also performed his popular folk numbers. Kaustav Banerjee and his friends paid tribute to Lakkhichhara. Together, they sang Ghure phire shei eki kotha, Paliye berai and many more. Singers groomed and taught by
Iman Chakraborty presented songs designed by Nilanjan Ghosh.
Durnibar Saha and Kinjal Chattopadhyay, among others, performed at the do.
The show culminated with a performance by Bangla band, Shnuopoka. Upal Sengupta joined them to perform their hit, Protita gaani hobe tomay niye.
