It’s the same film for which Roopa Ganguly had bagged the National Award for Best Female Playback Singer. Obviously then, the music release of Aditi Roy’s Abosheshey was much-awaited, more so because of the delay in the film’s release. But the music, scored by Prabuddha Banerjee, was also spoken about for reasons other than the award it won. In a first, Roopa Ganguly and
Dibyendu Mukherjee have come together for the film’s title track.
While the song is not part of the film, it’s there in the album.
Says a source, “The song was conceived after Aditi’s sister, Tania, suggested that something be done with the word,
abosheshey. It’s a beautiful song that one can easily relate to.
Abosheshey, the song, talks about one space and two different times and revolves around a mother and her son. While Dibyendu has rendered the son’s part, the mother’s tale is narrated by Roopa.”
It’s heard that Roopa had initially put her foot down as she felt that she was only comfortable with Rabindrasangeet. The unit is now planning to make a music video of the song, though it’s not clear if the duo will be part of it.
