Mouni Roy spreads awareness for a cleaner Ganga in Kolkata

An event held in the city on Tuesday brought together prominent personalities, who deliberated on various problems concerning the Ganga.
The panelists — including Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev actress Mouni Roy — discussed issues like absence of proper disposal systems, sewage and immersion of idols in the holy river. “I am here to spread awareness for a cleaner Ganga.I am honoured to be a part of this noble programme,” said Mouni. The event also saw school students taking part in a fancy dress competition, which required them to be dressed as Shiva and Parvati. Chandrabindoo then took centrestage and belted out four songs. Upal Sengupta sang Ganga Gangar toronge and Bondhu tomay, while Anindya Chattopadhyay rendered Amar shohor. Prashmita Paul then crooned O Ganga.
