Mime based on Ray’s characters in February

In February, Padabali, the sister organisation of Jogesh Mime Academy will present a special mime based on various characters of Satyajit Ray’s films or books. For the unique production,

Padabali

has secured special permission from

Sandeep Ray

. Other than Goopy and Bagha, the story has included a number of other characters including

Debi

from the film Debi, the female protagonist of

Mahanagar

and

Durga

from Pather Panchali, among others.

The director of the play, Prakriti Datta said that the performance will start with Goopy and Bagha getting three boons from Bhooter Raja. Then they will travel to a distant land where they meet characters from the film Debi and rescue her for there. After that they go to 1950s Kolkata to characters of Mahanagar.
