Margam Festival sees renowned dancers in attendance

The Margam Festival was held recently at a city auditorium to promote Indian classical dance and create awareness of the art form among the masses. This is the sixth year of the festival organised by Udok Performing Arts. Rajib Saha and Moumita Chatterjee, founders of the group, said the Margam journey started in 2013 and has been successfully held every year since then.
The festival was held over two days. The first day started with the inaugural ceremony and performances of different forms of classical dance. The guests of honour on Day 1 were Debasish Kumar, Pandit Bickram Ghosh, Sri Rajib Bhattacharya and Kohinoor Sen Barat. The

performances by Jaya Seal Ghosh and Moumita Chatterjee and

Kathak

and Bharatanatyam duet by Anita Mallick and Ashimbandhu Bhattacharya were the highlights of the first day.
