Live music and dance performances enthral all at four-day weekend gala

The third edition of

Kolkata Poush Utsav

took place at a New Town auditorium over the weekend. Along with two National Award-winning singers – Iman Chakraborty and Rupankar Bagchi – there were a host of other performers at the four-day celebration at the venue.

The second day saw stunning performances by singer Jayati Chakraborty followed by dancer Devlina Kumar. “I enjoyed the show to the hilt. It anyway feels awesome to be back on stage and I was happy after performing in front of such a supportive audience,” Devlina said.

While the band, Fiddler’s Green, performed on the third day, the fourth and the final day of the event saw a play enacted by the group, Behala Batayan, and a power-packed performance by the rock band, Impulse. The event concluded with a green fireworks show. “This is not just another event, but the cumulative portrayal of Bengali history and culture. And we have tried to portray it in a similar manner,” said event organiser
