Launch of luxury cruise facility enthrals Kolkatans

Heavy rains and a thunderstorm weren’t enough to dampen the spirits of the hordes of socialites, event management company heads and travel company managers who dropped in to attend the launch party of the cruise ship, The Auspicious, just ahead of Poila Boishakh on Friday evening.

The beautifully lit Howrah Bridge and Vidyasagar Setu in the background and a cool breeze from the Hooghly made for a perfect ambience for the party. The evening began with band Sunny Boys’ electrifying performance.

They rendered both retro as well as latest Bollywood tracks. Post the band performance, DJ Rimi took to the stage and played hit numbers like Gallan Goodiyan, Tamma Tamma and Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai, among others.

The guests were seen enjoying delectable cocktails and finger food like chicken reshmi kebab, fish fingers, crispy chilli babycorn and chicken seekh kebab. Thai Consul General to Kolkata, Sweeya Santipitaks, was also present at the do.

A city-based documentary filmmaker, Mousumi Kar, who was seen having a great time at the party along with her husband, told us, “It’s a delight to attend this dinner. I am glad to meet people from the travel and tourism industry. This is the largest luxury cruise facility in Bengal and the perfect venue to host such
an event.”
