Trump is in town
It was late in the evening and the guests at the five-star banquet were all waiting patiently. Someone suddenly murmured, “His plane has landed. Another 20 minutes and Donald Trump Jr will be in.” These words spread like wildfire. Security went up a notch and emcee Pamela Bhutoria took to the podium. Junior Trump came, along with other honchos of the real estate project he’s associated with.“India is an amazingly important market for us,” he said, winning the hearts of many who were present at the do.
Who’s who of the city gather
Several diplomats, dignitaries and culturati were also spotted at the do. “I am amazed to see his (Donald Trump Jr) passion and commitment. He
travelled over half the world to visit us just to be a part of this event. It’s because of this passion he is what he is today,” said Assocham co-chairperson of eastern India Shradha Agarwaal. Veteran tennis coach Enrico Piperno said, “It is a proud moment for all of us. I am thrilled that a global brand will have presence in the city I grew up in.”
The honchos
City’s business community was in full attendance at the do. Along with veteran members of the community, a bunch of young guns were also there. Kirti Patodia, Saksham Karwal and Ankita Kumar were spotted enjoying the evening. Speaking about Junior Trump’s India visit, Kirti said, “All three of us went to the University of Pennsylvania, where Donald Trump Jr also went. So, he was our senior in college. We are done with our graduation and now stepping into the real world of business.”
