Kolkata is waking up to music other than Bollywood. And celebrating electronica last Friday was Soho — Lifestyle, Kitchen & Bar.
As five artistes — Yidam (chillout and dub), Ganeshaa (old-school Goa trance), Para Control (neo Goa), Conta Frequency (psy-trance) and Braindrop with his live set created magic at the console, the crowd turned up in huge numbers to raise a toast to this genre of music.

Interestingly, many were also seen checking out the IPL action on the television sets at the nightclub and just as Team Kolkata emerged triumphant, the crowd welcomed the win with loud cheers and catcalls. A little later, a guest came up with a request to be allowed to do an impromptu performance and whatta show that was! Next, it was time to get back to music and the revellers did just that, shaking a leg on the dancefloor. “It’s time to celebrate the night with some great music,” concluded Ganeshaa. Truly, celebration time!
