The tenth leg of the Indian Golf Union’s (IGU)
eastern amateur
circuit took place recently at the
Tollygunge Club
. The tournament saw 65
golfers
in action. In the two-day event, many young golfers gave a tough competition to some of the top players from
eastern
India.
Young golfer, Karan Verma, emerged as the winner of the tournament for the third consecutive time.
Indrajit Bhalotia, director of the tournament, said, “As the tournament gets older, the quality of golf is improving. This tournament is a great opportunity for amateur golfers from eastern India who are aiming for a national level tournament.” Tolly Club CEO and managing member, Anil Mukerji, gave away the prizes after the tournament.
Some of the other winners in different categories were Fizza Ali, Sanjay Sanwal, Ranadeep Moitra and Vijay Kumar.
