Kolkata is the new Sin City. While the vice squad was busy looking elsewhere, we helped the party devils embrace their naughty side.

While some held on to their saintly image, there were some who decided to indulge their darker side.

However, this was not the first time that wings transformed into horns and wands changed into pitchforks. The world over, sin and saintliness have held an inexplicable appeal for us mortals.
In Australia, the Saints & Sinners Ball is a ���no holds barred��� extravaganza, where like-minded couples party late into the night.
In New Orleans, the Saints & Sinners Literary Festival has, for the past five years, been attended by writers, editors and
publishers from around the world. The festival has helped build a community among LGBT writers, while also helping to spread information about AIDS education. Now, this is what we call a meeting for a saintly purpose.
Next door, in Los Angeles, Saints & Sinners is a heaven ���n��� hell themed bar. As a website screams, ���It is kitschy yet edgy, casual yet sexy, mellow yet loud, neighbourhoody yet trendy, a scene without being sceney.���

A much talked-about dance party that has been organised for over 25 years, once had Saints & Sinners for its theme. The venue was an actual sea vessel ship.
So, if you thought only party animals could turn into saints and sinners, wait till you hear this. Saints & Sinners, is also a documentary on same-sex marriage and the Catholic Church, by Abigail Honor and Yan Vizinberg. It follows the journey of a gay couple determined to marry in a Catholic church.
This is not all. As the name suggests, Saints & Sinners: A History of the Popes by Eamon Duffy, is an illustrated book covering the history of the papacy, from its beginning to the reign of Pope John Paul II.
Our singers, too, have explored the possibilities of this powerful combination. All Saints��� second album was titled Saints & Sinners, while the 70s band Whitesnake also released an album called Saints & Sinners.
We know that there is a Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde in all of us, the most important thing is to decide which side we want the world to see.
