Arts Acre, painter Suvaprasanna’s dream project, was inaugurated on the eastern fringes of the city on Thursday with a lot of fanfare. Chief minister
Mamata Banerjee unveiled the project in the presence of a galaxy of stalwarts. Carnatic music exponent M Balamuralikrishna, Kathak maestro Pandit Birju Maharaj and painter Anjolie Ela Menon, musician-composer Debajyoti Mishra and author-social activist Mahasweta Devi were present at the do.
Guests were seen taking a look at the establishment, which comprises museums of modern art, galleries, studios, auditorium, cafeteria and living quarters for artists. M Balamuralikrishna broke into a song to express his happiness at the development. We also spotted
