Good food and good time go hand in hand but what makes it even better is good conversation. Sly

Fox Gastro Club

— the latest addition to the city’s tech hub that specialises in molecular gastronomy, giving a twist to the food and its presentation — hosted an afternoon of poetry and conversations on Sunday. The event witnessed personalities from the city’s art, music and film fraternities like Sujoy Prosad Chatterjee, Dolly Basu, Nivedita Bhattacharjee, Sunil Bhandari, Bickram Ghosh and Kanchan Datta, among others.

The owners of the gastro club, Karan Chhawchharia and Rahul Dalmiya, were also present at the event. The theme for the interactive session was ‘peace’ and the guests recited poems or read out excerpts from books based on the theme. Sujoy moderated and also read out portions from the writings of

Suheir Hammad

and Rabindranath Tagore.

Dolly read from Kahlil Gibran’s works while Anusuya Majumdar recited a poem by Maya Angelou. Nivedita Bhattacharjee read out 49 Greys, a satirical piece, written by Shuktara Lal that focuses on the societal pressures which demand that women should look youthful to remain attractive even in their middle-age, while men can afford to age gracefully and still be considered desirable.

Kanchan read an excerpt from the book, At Home In The World, written by

Thich Nhat Hanh

, a Vietnamese Buddhist monk and peace activist. “To taste the twist in the food in an ambience that marries the baroque to the modern, one must come to Sly Fox. We will impress the patrons through our unique food presentation on every plate,” said Karan.
