BACKBONES OF THE GALA EVENT




Students from Sudarshan Chakravorty’s dance academy put up a splendid performance at the show. “Artistes are the pride of a country. It’s so sad to see that in our country artistes don’t get the freedom to follow their passion,” said Sudarshan. Students of all age groups from his dance academy participated in the event, the youngest one being just seven years old. “From kids to upcoming choreographers to the pillars of my academy, everyone participates with great enthusiasm every year,” added Sudarshan. The event kickstarted with Dishari Chakraborty’s amazing santoor act followed by various performances on Rabindrasangeet,

Bollywood

songs, musicals and many more. One of the core members of the academy, Paramita Saha, said, “The jalsa has grown into a much bigger affair now. Our friends, who are artistes of their own accord, come and encourage us. It is really special for us when we receive such great support.”

Everyone made a beeline at the chaat counter where phuchka, papri chaat and dahi vada were on offer. The dinner spread included pulao, stuffed capsicum, stuffed potato and gajar ka halwa, which was savoured by all.
