Celebrating with the frat fraternity

For two consecutive evenings, the fash frat and who’s who of the city were well on their toes. The occasion The Kolkata chapter of the Chivas Fashion Tour that showcased collections by some of the topmost designers of the country at the ballroom of the Hyatt Regency.Spread over two days, the first day showcased designers Ashish Soni and duo Rahul Khanna and Rohit Gandhi, while the second day witnessed collections by Rocky S and Vikram Phadnis.
As the evenings kicked off with cocktails, the restlessness among those gathered for the shows to start was more than evident. After all, it would have top models strutting the ramp. Ashish Soni opened the show with his sporty line, which was mostly in white.
The highlight of the show was undoubtedly the ramp walk by cricketer Robin Uthappa in a black suit drawing maximum cat calls. Rahul Khanna and Rohit Gandhi next showcased their balloon skirts and military cut jackets. The second day of the event showcased collections by Vikram Phadnis and Rocky S. Vikram’s collection reflected his typcial trademark synthesis of popular tastes. The couture collection showcased by Rocky S moved gracefully from ethinicity to modernity exuding ornate glamour and subtle opulence. And in the midst of all this, the party at Soho, Lifestyle Kitchen and Bar on Friday evening drew a lot of attention as the city mingled with the fashionistas.
