Work on the special effects and the post-production took a long time to wrap up and the film finally released on September 20. Talking about the film, the director said, “I am very happy that Buddhu Bhutum has finally released and the audience will get to watch it now. Everything — from the set to the special effects — has been created through computer graphics. The film was shot against a green screen and what one can see on the big screen is only the virtual reality. The set on the backdrop has been created in 3D. A lot of effort has gone into the making of the film and I hope everyone likes it.” Music composer of the film, Surojit Chatterjee, was also present at the premiere.
