BSF Jawans’ day out at Tolly Club

Action-packed morning
Several club members, 30 BSF officials and DGP, BSF, KK Sharma, who flew down from New Delhi, took part in the golf tournament. After enjoying the lush green course of Tolly Club, everyone gorged on a sumptuous Army breakfast, which was surely one of the highlights of the event. KK Sharma said, “From the bottom of my heart I thank Tolly Club officials for associating with BSF and conducting this tournament so nicely.Hopefully this event is going to continue for several years to come.”
Winners of the tournament

In the evening, a grand prize distribution ceremony was organised at the club lawn. The trophies to the winners were given out by DGP BSF, KK Sharma, his wife Renu Sharma and club vice-president Renji Thomas. Some of the winners of the tournament were PS Rathore, DIG, for maximum pars, Kiran Sharma in the ladies category, Sujoy Banerjee in handicap category, Yash Sarda for longest drive and Anisha Agarwalla for straightest drive, among others.
Weapons on display

Every year, this tournament also has an elaborate weapons display on the main lawn organised by the South Bengal Frontier, BSF, exclusively for the club members.The weapon exhibition was the main attraction for all the non-golfers. Starting from machine guns, 9mm pistol, 5.56mm INSAS rifle, 30mm AGS to
different assault rifles were on display. The BSF also showcased their passive night vision binoculars, monoculars and helmets at the exhibition.
Guests at the event

Apart from the DGP, BSF, and his wife,
dignitaries like IG, BSF, PSR Anjaneyulu, DIG (Public Relations) of BSF South Bengal Frontier, RPS Jaiswal with wife Neelima and IG Coast Guard Region (NE) Kuldeep Singh Sheoran, among others, graced the occasion. Anil Mukerji, CEO and managing member of Tolly Club, who was seen greeting the guests, said, “The idea behind this tournament is to bring the civil society closer to the BSF and also understand their role.”
Foodies’ delight

After the prize distribution it was time for the guests to let their hair down and relax after a long day. Several sipped on beverages and enjoyed the yummy starters. There was also a lavish dinner spread for everyone. Dishes like mutton biryani, chicken chaap, fish Provencal, paneer lababdar and fish Amritsari, among others, were on offer.
