Bertie & Friends' musical do
It was carnival time on a recent Friday. As Bertie & Friends celebrated Someplace Else’s (The Park) 16th anniversary, friends of this band, a fairly large number, turned up at the venue to celebrate the occasion.
From old to new, songs were belted out one after another, much to the listeners’ delight. From the “The Right Stuff”, “All Over Again” to “Golden Touch”, the crowd lapped up all the music that came their way.

Talking about doing a perfect balancing act, Bertie Da Silva, the dean of arts, St Xavier’s College, said: “It’s my interest in both music and academics that makes the job easy.” The band lineup had Willie Walters on bass, Sooman on lead guitar, Suraj Pradhan on drums and Anindya Paul on backing vocals. Once Bertie & Friends called it a day, it was time for Hip Pocket to take to the stage. Quite a hip ’n’ happening night that was!
