Believe it or not: Takeaway gets a new bizarre twist
Butter chicken met sneakers in one of the internet’s most unexpected food fashion moments. In a viral Instagram reel, a creator filled transparent shoes with butter chicken — one of India’s favourite comfort dishes — then wore them and ate the curry straight out of the footwear. The surreal clip has left viewers amused, bewildered and debating whether the trend is creative chaos or just plain culinary confusion.
‘Lunch for culinary school’
In the reel by Instagram user @itsmejuliette, white shoes with hollow bases were filled with butter chicken, then closed and worn. She said “how I”m packing my lunch for culinary school.” At one point she even sat down and scooped curry out with a spoon while still in the shoes.
Lunch on the go or no?
Social media was equal parts fascinated and confused. One comment joked, “One shoe for curry, one shoe for rice.” Others pondered practicality: “Does this come in a men’s size 10?” or joked it was perfect for “mid-run snacks.”
