Artistic upholstery for festive season

The autumn fervour is on in full swing in the city, with minds brimming with festive verve. ISABIS, a one-stop destination for artistic upholstery in the city, is ready with a new collection of cushions, covers, table runners and table mats that depict life in Kolkata.
What’s interesting is that the weaves are garnished with a layer of nostalgia through colonial escapades. From

The Bengal Club

to the

Viceroy’s house

— pre-independent Kolkata has come alive through a tapestry of images, which is ready to spruce up your home.

This vintage collection was recently launched at ISABIS in presence of elocutionist Pranati Tagore, actress Chaiti Ghoshal, interior designer Urvashi Basu and fashion designer

Sharbari Datta

. Interdisciplinary artiste Sujoy Prosad Chatterjee facilitated the walk-through in the store, speaking about how Kolkata lives through these grand old stories of magnificence depicted in the upholstery.

“The Puja collection is a salute to the undying spirit of Kolkata that lives through us and even in our homes,” said Aparupa Bhattacharya Basu, the lady behind this unique fiesta of colonial life on the weaves.
