threw a year-end bash at the art-deco home of danseuse Sharmila Basu Thakur for his close friends. The evening began with an impromptu music session by vocalist Madhuwanti Basu who began with Harry Bellafonte and moved to RD Burman and rounded off with the quintessential Tagore songs.

Sen on the floor to dance to the chorus of Ajkal Tere Mere Pyaar Ke Charche. The high point of the evening was the two generations — mother and daughter-in-law, Chaitali Dasgupta and Indrayanee Dasgupta dancing together to Momo Chitte Nitey Nritey.

Spotted at the do were actresses Chandreyee Ghosh, Bidipta Chakraborty, Debjani Chatterjee, Shruti Das, who acts along with Sujoy in the telly serial Trinayani, with her director boyfriend Swarnendu Samadder, actor Joy Sengupta and his wife Taraa, filmmaker Sunny Ray and his actress wife Ratasree and many others. Everyone was talking about the delicious dishes served for dinner and of course the very innovative dessert Madhumadira.

"This was a beautiful evening where hearts poured out and the energies of artistes mingled well," said Sujoy, who will be off for a vacation to a tea garden in North Bengal to ring in the new year.
