Art lovers come together for a memorable evening

It was an evening to remember at a luxury hotel recently as the crème de la crème of the society was present to celebrate Shuvaprasanna’s recent series of artworks, on display at an art gallery. The party was an extension of the artist’s journey where

Shuvaprasanna

launched the

digital prints

of his artworks.

“For this particular show, where one will get to see different motifs in the form of owl, crow, cat, goat etc, we have come up with a print set of 10 paintings at an affordable rate. There are

art lovers

, who’d love to buy an original painting but at times find it tough because of financial constraints. Keeping that in mind we have come up with this idea of digital prints of these paintings that are economical,” said Shuvaprasanna, who was seen ushering in the guests in person.

Guests' speak

Laxman Aelay, an artist who is associated with Shuvaprasanna for a long time, loved the concept. He told us with a smile, “It is a brilliant idea as there are many art lovers who want to keep a painting of their favourite artists at home but can’t afford it. Now they can.” German deputy Consul General Jurgen Thomas Schrod was seen appreciating the paintings with owl and crow motifs.

He said, “I loved the detailing of the owl’s eye and crow is something I associate with Kolkata. It is a beautiful city, which is so rich in culture and heritage.” All the guests were seen exchanging notes and talking at length about their love for art.

Food Galore

From vegetable shammi

kebab

, to garashi spiced murgh tikka on papdi canapes to crumb fried fish and jalapeno tartare, the guests were seen enjoying the lavish spread at the venue. The main course included chang mai noodles

soup

, smoked chicken, garlic chives pesto spaghetti with roasted pumpkin, maacher kalia, murgh rezala and others.

The dessert menu too had a lot of variations like apple crumble pie,
vanilla anglaise, honey walnut
