A starry premiere in Kolkata
Jisshu and AmitabhOn Friday evening, movie-buffs queued up outside a city theatre much before the curtains went up.
It had to be so, since the movie in question is from Anjan Dutts stable. Truly, the press show of Chowrasta: Crossroads of Love had Tollywood making its presence felt. Even director Rituparno Ghosh was seen attending the show. Before the film started, Victor Banerjee addressed the audience saying how averse he is to attending premieres.

Ill be leaving in a while, he said, adding, Ive spent quite a few years in Shillong and these days, I spend my time in Mussourie. Im very attached to the hills. There, roads are winding, but people are straight. When I came down to Kolkata, I realised that here, the roads are straight but the people are winding. I know how neglected the people living in the hills are by the Central and state governments. I think Anjan has portrayed the angst of the people living in Darjeeling in just the right fashion.
Dutt too spoke about the hard work that went into his ode to Darjeeling. With wife Chhanda doing a part of the costumes and son Neel scoring the films music, the show was a perfect family gathering. Once the movie concluded, Dutt was seen basking in all the appreciation that came his way. At the cocktail party right after the show, the cast raised a toast in style. Work hard and party harder seems to be the mantra!
