The long-awaited socio-political drama, Shankar Mudi, directed by
Aniket Chattopadhyay had its premiere at a city theatre on Friday evening. While the film features
Kaushik Ganguly and
Sreela Majumdar in the lead, others in the cast are Saswata Chatterjee,
Anjan Dutt,
Rudranil Ghosh and Ankitaa Chakraborty.
Kaushik, who was glad to be a part of the project, said, “The film has touched upon an important subject.
I am glad that I got an opportunity to be a part of the project. It is a documentation of certain familiar characters and simplicities of life that we have lost and forgotten over time. Moreover, this film is a personal favourite because I was surrounded by a group of old friends and colleagues. We were like one big family having great fun while shooting.”
Kabir Suman, who also scored music for the film and lent his voice to a few songs, shared, “It feels great to see the film finally out for the audience to watch. The content of the film is very important in today’s time and every member of the team has worked hard to make it a success. Also, I dearly miss Pratik Choudhury, who left too soon. I am so happy that he was a part of this film.”
