Ajitesh Bandopadhyay had won many laurels for his outstanding contribution to Indian theatre.
On Thursday evening, Theatrum, in association with The Times Of India, paid tribute to this legendary theatre personality who revolutionised the concept of world theatre on Bengali stage. The programme was inaugurated by actor Sabitri Chatterjee, who is also from the theatre background.

We want to revive the concept of theatre, through play reading sessions by eminent personalities. Today, we will pay tribute to him by reading Nana Ranger Din adapted by Ajitish Bandopadhyay from Anton Chekhov���s Swan Song,��� said actor Biplab Dasgupta. ���Theatrum will be organising regular play reading sessions by distinguished film and theatre personas like Barun Chanda, Jagannath Guha, Suchita RoyChaudhury, Chandan Sen, Sudipa Basu, Debleena Dutta, Anasuya Majumdar, to name a few,��� said Sujoy Prosad Chatterjee.
