A dance drama based on Tagore and Kadambari Devi's relationship wows audience

A new dance production, Rup-Arup,

and others was hosted at the Satyajit Ray Auditorium ( ICCR ). The production deals with the core aesthetic philosophy of Tagore. The production started with the passing away of

Kadambari Devi

, and showcased how Tagore sublimed the love for her towards his development of the notion of beauty. In the production, the love for the individual was seen by the poet to reflect in the nature, where the earth and sky were separated lovers longing for reunion. This sublimation of an individual love towards its reflection and revelation in the cosmic awareness whose physical embodiment was the nature, and formed the journey of Rup to Arup. . The singers of the dance drama was were Shamik Paul ans Rohini Roychowdhury. Dancers who performed at the show were Nandita Banerjee, Arnab Bandyopadhyay and members of a city-based dance institute, Darpani. Light design was done by Uttiyo Jana and choreography and Direction was by Arnab Bandyopadhyay himself. And the production was presented by Nandita Banerjee.
