Whoever said theatre doesn’t have takers in Kolkata, needs to do a rethink. So says actor Chaiti Ghoshal, who recently celebrated the 25th show of “Raktokarabi” at a city club on January 13. “It’s time we debunked the myth of theatre not having takers in India. We began staging “Raktokarabi” on August 29. After that, for one-and-a-half months, part of the cast of the play was out of the country.
Yet, we completed 25 shows of our play on January 13. Even in terms of money, Bengali theatre can now afford a lot more than what it could earlier,” insists Chaiti.
Sure, that too calls for a celebration.
