Metro Railway observed World Heart Day today on September 30th, 2024, at Tapan Sinha Memorial Hospital in presence of Principal Chief Medical Officer (PCMO) and other doctors, under the theme ‘Use Heart for Action’. The theme highlights a shift from awareness to empowering with a clear purpose and goal. As part of the programme, Dr. A.K. Prasad, additional chief medical superintendent of Tapan Sinha Memorial Hospital delivered a speech regarding the risk factor (modified and non-modified risk factors) associated with cardiovascular diseases like physical inactivity, diabetes, cholesterol, hypertension, tobacco use, high sodium intake, obesity, mental health, air pollution, sound pollution etc.
He suggested ten simple prevention tips that included eating well, exercising, maintaining a healthy weight, stress management etc. The event was attended by forty railway beneficiaries.
