Kolkata gears up for Rakhi with all things trending
With Raksha Bandhan approaching, Kolkata’s festive spirit is getting a stylish upgrade. This year, siblings are ditching the mundane and diving into personalised, playful, and nostalgia-filled gifting. Curated hampers that speak their love language — think experience-driven, custom-picked and all the trending goodies — the city’s festive sibling gifting scene is all about celebrating the bond with heart.
Experience-driven gifts rank No. 1
Rakhi gifting this year is all about the experience. “Spa kits, snacks & treats, perfumes & candles, skincare hampers are hot sellers this year,” said Krishika Agarwal of Hamper Bubble. Ankita Bengani from Hamper Studio Kolkata said, “Spa kits and matcha‑themed boxes, in particular, are trending as people look for gifts that feel personal and very indulgent.” Talipot House and Karma Kettle are also curating hampers with artisanal goodies for an extra luxe touch.
Childhood nostalgia? Yes please
This year, the most loved Rakhi gift isn’t high-tech — it’s a throwback. “One of the most requested themes has been ‘our childhood in a box,’” says Muskaan Lodha of Lavender Gifting and Desserts. From UNO cards & fave biscuits to mini-Polaroids, DIY hot cocoa kits, & sibling coupons like ‘one coffee treat from me’ are the ones to grab.
Think stylish, personal, and oh-so-trendy
Not only are the goodies more fun, the packaging has had a glow-up too. Ankita adds, “Customers are opting for sleek packaging and quirky themes with a trendy, aesthetic appeal.” “Modern hampers with personalised sippers are trending,” says Ruchi Jain of Wrapped Emotions. Labubu collectibles & themed gift sets for kids are also flying off shelves for the younger siblings.
Healthy, artisanal, gourmet treats for high in demand
Modern hampers with a nostalgic twist is the memo. Think rakhis with matcha cookies or chocolates with handwritten letters –Muskaan Lodha
