Kolkata Pujo committee unveils theme song Amar Janani Tumi

In a heartfelt tribute to Maa Durga, Gariahat Hindustan Club has unveiled its official Durga Pujo theme song for 2025, titled Amar Janani Tumi. The track brings together an inspiring collaboration of three artistes – while the lyrics has been penned by lyrics by Chandrima Bhattacharya, Minister of State of Health and Family Welfare of West Bengal, the music has been composed by Debaditya Chaudhury, keyboardist of rock band Lakkhichhara. Musician Raghab Chatterjee has lent his voice to the theme song.
The song seeks to capture the emotional, cultural and spiritual essence of Bengal’s most cherished festival. Sharing her thoughts, Chandrima Bhattacharya said, “Amar Janani Tumi is more than a song. It’s a prayer, a celebration, and a tribute to the strength and compassion of Maa Durga. Writing these lyrics was a deeply emotional experience, drawn from my own connection to the festival.”
Composer Debaditya Chaudhury described the project as an attempt to blend devotion and tradition with a contemporary soundscape. “With this song, I wanted to musically express the grandeur and warmth that Durga Puja brings to every Bengali heart,” he said.
For Raghab Chatterjee, lending his voice to the track was a divine experience. “It’s always special to sing for Pujo, but Amar Janani Tumi touched my soul. I believe this song will stay in people’s hearts long after the Pujo lights fade.”
With its evocative words, stirring composition and soulful vocals, Amar Janani Tumi promises to become a memorable musical offering this festive season.
