Kolhapurkars dived into the pool of movies as Vintage Film Festival was held recently at Chhatrapati Rajashree Shahu Smarak Bhavan in Kolhapur. National and international movies were showcased at the festival. Considering the historical and ancient background in the field of cinema from this cultural city like Kolhapur, the film festival gave a platform to budding film makers to showcase their talent.
Many youngsters from the city participated by making short films and documentaries on varied topics that were presented at the film festival. The participants also got a chance to showcase their efforts at international level to express their ideas, thoughts, innovations in front of national and international artists and audience. The two-day festival ended with prize distribution on categories like Best documentary, animation film and short film. Award for best director, cinematographer, editing, and best award for best screenplay were also given out. The festival got a great response from the movie aficionados. Some of the films like Voiceless Melodies, Black and Tan Fantasy, Café Irani Chai, Gypsy Tales, Paro, Nirmany and much more were amongst the winning movies at the festival.
