Devotees gather at Panchganaga River for holy bath
The holy month of
Adhik Maas
is the month wherein devotes conduct various rituals and perform holy bath. A month dedicated to social activities and donations, citizens ofKolhapur
had been doing this throughout the month. To mark the end of Adhik maas, devotees were seen in large numbers taking the holy bath at the Panchganga river of Kolhapur. After the holy bath was done, they performed aarti of the Goddess ofAmbabai
at the temple situated near the river. Chanting of mantras and aarti was a continuous sight at the riverbed. A glee sight of local passer-by’s offering clothes and grains to the beggars at the temple marked the holy festival.end of article
