Award function in Kolhapur to recognise social service

Anant Jhende, who manages Baba Amte Seva Sanstha, was felicitated with an award in a recently concluded ceremony in the city. The award titled Mauli was conferred upon him by Vishwanath Rukdikar Maharaj Trust.
“Many people wish to work for social causes, but do not get suitable opportunities. I have been lucky enough to get this opportunity to make a difference,” Anant said while receiving the award.He further added that when he decided to follow the footsteps of Baba Amte, a renowned social worker, he started by looking after four orphans. Now, his orphanage has expanded to accomodate many more children.
