Vegetable harvest at Government Secretariat

Though the city is drenched in heavy rains, the employees at Government Secretariat were happy to observe the first harvest of the season that they have been growing at the Secretariat premises. The vegetables grown as part of Onathin Oru Muram Pachakari included ladies finger, peas, spinach, brinjal etc. Under the green project, the Government Secretariat complex is occupied with around 500 to 1000 grow bags on the terrace of the secretariat annexe-II building complex. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan led the harvest of the organic vegetables which were taken care by the employees and the garden staffs of the Secretariat complex. Agriculture Minister VS Sunil Kumar, Ports Minister Ramachandran Kadannapally also took part in the harvest.
