Two-wheeler rally to celebrate Women’s Day

A two-wheeler rally was organized at Manaveeyam Veedhi on Wednesday by Manaveeyam fraternity, in association with the Directorate of Women and Child Development and Gender Advisory Board to mark Women’s Day. The women’s rally was flagged off in the evening near the Neermathalam sapling by ADGP B Sandhya. The rally was aimed at creating awareness on gender justice, safety for women, ensuring freedom of movement for women and also send a message against substance and alcohol abuse.Addressing the event, Sandhya said the initiative should not be a one-time programme, but it should be a continual process to ensure the freedom and safety of women in society.
