St Teresa’s girls kill it in khadi

St Teresa’s girls are known for their fashion quotient and the campus is never late to experiment with the latest trends.

However, the college looked like a different world on November 14. Decked up in a variety of khadi attires, the students, faculty and staff of St Teresa’s celebrated ‘Ethnic Day’ and that too, in style!

Titled Swadeshi Utsav, the day was an occasion to celebrate all things khadi and it was organised by college union to help the flood-hit Chendamangalam weavers. Aathira Niranjana, arts club secretary of the college, says, “Now on, we will be wearing khadi dresses to college, on the third Wednesday of every month. It is our humble initiative to help the Chendamangalam weavers in all ways that we can.”
A fashion show was also held at the campus, as part of the initiative. Eight models from the college walked the ramp sporting khadi apparels from renowned designers. From presenting the khadi sari in the most traditional manner to giving it a makeover in umpteen styles, the fashionistas proved khadi can look smashing in any avatar.
