The 42nd edition of Soorya Dance and Music festival concluded recently with a dance drama titled Meluha, by Bahrain-based dancer Vidya Sreekumar and team. The hour-long performance held at Tagore theatre was based on the mythological story of Lord Shiva and Sati. The performance was conceptualised, scripted, choreographed and directed by Vidya.
The plot of the performance revolves around Lord Shiva who lives on Meluha and the events that happen in his life including meeting Sati and her death. The team comprising 32 artistes narrate the story through bharatanatyam, kuchipudi, folk dance and other contemporary dance forms.
